Cover Orange

Was $0.99-> Now Free

graphics 3/5
fun 5/5
playability 5/5
overall: 4/5

pros: Nice graphics, good puzzles
cons: Kids game (could be fun if not so cutesy)

The concept of Cover Orange is pretty simple, you've got to drop things on the screen to protect the Oranges (or are they Orange People?) from the washer-spewing rain cloud that is about to come by (its probably rain, but it acts more like metal washers).

The game isn't time-based, so you have as much time as you want to drop/place your blocks. Sometimes you'll just need to build a simple structure to cover your Orange, othertimes you'll need to thing a bit harder & case some Rube Goldberg-esque stuff to happen, e.g.: rolling your oranges elsewhere or setting off a rocket.

The puzzles themselves are pretty fun and the graphics are quite nice. The game is very playable as well. The problem I have with this game is its a little cutesy and mainly designed for kids - this manifests itself, for example, at the end of the level when you've got to watch the scary-faced raincloud slowly scroll across the screen while the Orange looks worried and says "uh oh" - this slow, annoying animation can't be skipped and it continually reminds you you are playing a kids game. I don't mind playing a kids game, however, and my kids will certainly enjoy playing it!

I will keep this one.
